Lenovo announces Z5 Pro GT, last year’s model refreshed with a Snapdragon 855 processor

Lenovo had an event in China today where the company announced the budget Z5s, a device that was previously leaked with a hole punch in the display. Unfortunately, the device ended up featuring a teardrop-style notch.

However, the attention was stolen by the newly announced Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. The device is just an updated Z5 Pro, which featured a 95% screen-to-body ratio thanks to the camera system hidden under a slider. This new Z5 Pro GT features the new Snapdragon 855 processor and a choice of 4GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB of RAM and storage. The rest of the specs stay the same, such as the 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 16MP + 24MP cameras, and 3,350mAh battery.

This is the first officially announced device featuring the Snapdragon 855 processor, despite being a mid-range device. Prices for the various models range from RMB 2,698 to RMB 4,398, or US $ 391 to $ 638. The device goes up for pre-order on January 15th in China and will ship by the 24th, but it doesn’t look like we’ll get it in the States.

The Z5s is quite a bit less impressive, with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 710 processor, 4 or 6GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of storage, triple 16MP + 8MP + 5MP cameras with an optical zoom lens (in an arrangement taken straight from the P20 Pro), a 3,300mAh battery, and a base price of only $ 203. It also features water resistance and a headphone jack. Pre-orders are up right now so if you’re in China, hit the source links!
